People’s Resource Center’s (PRC) Back-to-School program receives a $10,000 Presidents Cup grant

Presidents Cup continues to leave a legacy extending far beyond the golf course in DuPage County. People’s Resource Center’s (PRC) Back-to-School program received a $10,000 Presidents Cup grant to help alleviate the tremendous strain felt by DuPage County families struggling to cover school expenses. A total of 1,200 new backpacks, essential school supplies, and gift cards were donated, packed, and distributed for the 2026 school year.

Through this annual initiative, PRC brings together community donations, financial support, and enthusiastic volunteers to equip local children with the tools they need to learn and thrive. On August 13, a record-breaking number of students and their families came for the backpack pick up day. "The motivation behind Back to School is that we want to be able to set students up for success in their school year." explains Sarah Martin, PRC's Senior Manager of Social Services. "Plus, we have the opportunity to connect families with additional resources at both PRC and beyond that may help them meet other needs."

People’s Resource Center, founded in 1975, responds to basic human needs, promotes dignity and justice, and creates a future of hope and opportunity for the residents of DuPage County, Illinois. A dedicated team of 2,500 active volunteers and 49 staff members provide access to food, clothing, social services, and financial assistance, educational programs, tutoring, and job assistance.

Simply put, this volunteer-powered, community-supported nonprofit exemplifies neighbors helping neighbors. PRC serves more than 22,500 neighbors annually in partnership with 32 offsite organizations that host satellite programs.
