U.S. Team Captain Brandt Snedeker and International Team Captain Geoff Ogilvy announce their six captain's picks for 2026 Presidents Cup

Snedeker announces Four-ball to be played in first round at Medinah

CHICAGO The teams for the 2026 Presidents Cup were finalized today, as U.S. Team Captain Brandt Snedeker and International Team Captain Geoff Ogilvy each made six captain’s picks to complete their respective 12-man rosters. The selections were revealed during the 2026 Presidents Cup Selection Special, broadcast live from PGA Tour Studios in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Snedeker selected Jacob Bridgeman, Patrick Cantlay, Chris Gotterup, Jackson Koivun, Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas. Of the six, Bridgeman, Gotterup and Koivun are making their Presidents Cup debut.

Bridgeman and Koivun are the first players to make a Presidents Cup team after competing in the Junior Presidents Cup. Bridgeman competed at Plainfield Country Club in New Jersey in the inaugural event in 2017, while Koivun competed at Myers Park Country Club in Charlotte in 2022.

Ogilvy selected Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Corey Conners, Nico Echavarria, Ryo Hisatsune, Sungjae Im, and Nick Taylor. Of the six, Echavarria, Hisatsune and Taylor are first-time participants.

In total, seven countries will represent the International Team in 2026: Australia, Canada, Colombia, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa and South Korea.

During the show, Snedeker announced that teams will compete in five Four-ball matches during the first round.

JACOB BRIDGEMAN

Age: 26

2026 Highlights: Collected his first career PGA Tour win at The Genesis Invitational in addition to five other top-10 finishes. Qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs for the second consecutive year in his third season on the PGA Tour, finishing strong at the TOUR Championship (T4).

Captain Snedeker: “Jacob has quickly proven himself as one of the brightest young players on Tour. What impressed me most wasn’t just his win at Riviera but the way he continued playing consistent golf throughout the season, ending with a strong finish at the TOUR Championship. He'll bring some new and exciting energy as a first-timer to the team this year.”

PATRICK CANTLAY

Age: 34

PGA Tour Wins: 8

Presidents Cup Appearances (Record): 2019, 2022, 2024 / (10-4-0)

2026 Highlights: Cantlay delivered another steady season on Tour, collecting five top-10 finishes highlighted by a runner-up finish at the BMW Championship during his 10th appearance in the FedExCup Playoffs. The eight-time Tour winner now owns 12 runner-up finishes.

Captain Snedeker: “Patrick is exactly the kind of player you want on a Presidents Cup team. His experience, consistency and ability to perform under pressure make him a no brainer. Year after year he has proven himself as an asset to the U.S. Team, not to mention he continues to prove himself as one of the strongest players on Tour. CHRIS GOTTERUP

Age: 27

PGA Tour Wins: 5

Presidents Cup Appearances (Record): First Appearance

2026 Highlights: Gotterup earned victories at the Sony Open in Hawaii, WM Phoenix Open and John Deere Classic, making him one of four players to record three or more wins on Tour this season. Finished T4 at the TOUR Championship in his second consecutive appearance.

Captain Snedeker: “I have been watching Chris closely all season and it’s an understatement to say he has worked incredibly hard for this opportunity. His performance on the course speaks for itself in results but further than that, he is fearless. He embraces big stages and has showed he can contend against the best players in the world. This is a well-deserved milestone in his career and I’m excited to see what he can bring to the team."

JACKSON KOIVUN

Age: 21

PGA Tour Wins: 1

Presidents Cup Appearances (Record): First Appearance

2026 Highlights: Earned his first PGA Tour title in his 13th career start and third as a professional, winning the 3M Open by three strokes over World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler while setting the 72-hole tournament scoring record at 25-under 259. Koivun finished the PGA Tour Regular Season at No. 70 in the FedExCup standings, becoming the first PGA Tour University No. 1 or PGA Tour University Accelerated graduate to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs in the same season he accepted membership.

XANDER SCHAUFFELE

2026 Highlights: The 10-time Tour winner recorded seven top-10 finishes in 20 starts this season, highlighted by a solo-third finish at THE PLAYERS Championship and a season-best runner-up at the Rocket Classic. Closed out the season with finishes inside the top 15 in two of the three FedExCup Playoffs events, posting a T7 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and T14 at the TOUR Championship.

Captain Snedeker: “Xander is one of the most important puzzle pieces to our team year after year and his presence means a lot. He is a leader in the team room, brings humor at the perfect times and ultimately has earned the respect of everyone in our group. When you’re putting together a U.S. Team, having a player of his caliber is a huge advantage.”

JUSTIN THOMAS

Age: 33

2026 Highlights: Thomas collected two top-10 finishes in 17 starts on Tour this season, including THE PLAYERS Championship (T8) and PGA Championship (T4). Qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs for the 11th time and third consecutive season, finishing No. 43 in the FedExCup.

Captain Snedeker: “Justin has always embraced the responsibility and privilege of representing the United States. He loves team competition, he thrives in the atmosphere and he has a way of energizing both his teammates and the fans around him. His experience in these events is a tremendous asset, and I know he’ll play an important role both on and off the course."

2026 Highlights: In his seventh year on Tour, recorded six top-25 finishes in 21 starts, highlighted by a pair of top-10s at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic (T6) and Puerto Rico Open (T8).

Captain Ogilvy: “Christiaan has experience in this event that would have been difficult to leave on the table. He’s earned 3.5 points in five matches, including two Singles victories. He knows what to expect and he delivers. That’s why I’ve selected him.”

COREY CONNERS

2026 Highlights: Making his second consecutive Presidents Cup appearance as a captain’s pick, Conners finished the 2026 regular season at No. 59 in the FedExCup standings after recording seven top-25 finishes in 21 starts. Best finish of the season was a T7 at the Travelers Championship, his lone top-10 of the year. Made the cut in all four major championships, including two top-25 finishes at The Open Championship (T14) and U.S. Open (T23).

Captain Ogilvy: “Corey’s experience in this competition and his consistent performance and stable mentality are undeniable traits that make him a standout member of the International Team.”

RYO HISATSUNE

Country: Japan

Age: 23

Best PGA Tour Finish: T2/2026 Farmers Insurance Open

Presidents Cup Appearances (Record): First Appearance

2026 Highlights: In his third season on the PGA Tour, Hisatsune qualified for the FedExCup Playoffs for the first time, advancing to the BMW Championship where he finished T12. In 25 starts this season, recorded five top-10 finishes, highlighted by a career-best T2 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open, and finished No. 47 in the FedExCup standings. Made the cut in each of the three majors he played in 2026, with his best finish being a T35 at the PGA Championship.

Captain Ogilvy: “Ryo has achieved a lot in a short time being only 23. After experiencing success in Japan and Europe, fans on this side of the world are getting to know him better with his regular appearances on PGA Tour leaderboards. NICO ECHAVARRIA

2026 Highlights: The 32-year-old captured his third PGA Tour title at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches and added two other top-10 finishes at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (T8) and Charles Schwab Challenge (T6). Becomes the third player from Colombia to represent the International Team in the Presidents Cup (Camilo Villegas, Sebastian Munoz).

Captain Ogilvy: Nico’s won twice on the PGA Tour since the last Presidents Cup in 2024. He portrays a kind of laid-back vibe and easy-going character, but deep down he is a superstar competitor and a great addition to the International Team.”

SUNGJAE IM

Country: South Korea

2026 Highlights: Recorded three top-10 finishes prior to entering the FedExCup Playoffs (T4/Valspar Championship, T5/Truist Championship, T9/THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson). Was the only player in the field to play his way into the BMW Championship after posting a T5 finish at TPC Southwind, improving from No. 53 to No. 40 in the FedExCup. The two-time Tour winner wrapped his season with his fifth top-10 finish in 20 total starts at the BMW Championship (T10).

Captain Ogilvy: “Sungjae is invaluable to the International Team. He’s a birdie machine. He’s also one of the funniest guys in the team room. Everybody loves Sungjae.”

NICK TAYLOR

Country: Canada

Age: 38

PGA Tour Wins: 5

Presidents Cup Appearances (Record): First Appearance

2026 Highlights: Taylor made 21 cuts in 23 starts and recorded five top-25 finishes. His best result came at the Cadillac Championship, where he finished T9 for his lone top-10 finish of the season. He advanced to the FedExCup Playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, finishing No. 63 in the FedExCup.

Captain Ogilvy: “Nick was gutted to miss out on the opportunity to be on the International Team in Canada last time, but he gets his chance this year after some steady, solid play over the last couple of seasons. He’s sneaky good and when he gets it going, he’s hard to beat.”
