Top Six International Team Players Secure Positions For 2026 Presidents Cup
CHICAGO — The top six players in the International Team standings have officially clinched automatic berths to compete in the 2026 Presidents Cup following the conclusion of the TOUR Championship. Players accrued Official World Golf Ranking Points from September 8, 2025 through the 2026 TOUR Championship, with World No. 13 Si Woo Kim topping the International Team standings to secure his fourth Presidents Cup appearance.
Four of the five other automatic qualifiers – Hideki Matsuyama (No. 3), Min Woo Lee (No. 4), Tom Kim (No. 5), Adam Scott (No. 6) – will make their return to the International Team while Ryan Fox (No. 2) will make his Presidents Cup debut.
International Team Captain Geoff Ogilvy and U.S. Team Captain Brandt Snedeker will make their six captain’s picks live from PGA Tour Studios on Tuesday, September 1 at 5 p.m. ET to round out their 12man teams that will compete at Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 3. The 60-minute show will be streamed on the PGA Tour’s YouTube and FAST channels and broadcast on Golf Channel.

2026 Highlights: The four-time PGA Tour winner owned the second-most top-10 finishes during the 2026 FedExCup Season (11) trailing only World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (13). The 31-year-old collected three runner-up finishes (Farmers Insurance Open, THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, FedEx St. Jude Championship) and placed third twice (T3/WM Phoenix Open, 3rd/RBC Heritage), maintaining consistent form throughout the 2026 season.
Notable: Made his Presidents Cup debut in 2017; standout performance in a Presidents Cup appearance came in 2022 at Quail Hollow Club where he went 3-1-0 and defeated Justin Thomas in Sunday singles.

2026 Highlights: Fox earned his third PGA TOUR title and first major championship at The Open
Championship at Royal Birkdale at the age of 39, becoming the second player from New Zealand to win The Open. With a win, he moved up 34 spots in the Official World Golf Ranking to No. 22 and propelled himself to No. 2 in the International Team standings at the time.
Notable: Fox is the first player from New Zealand to compete in the Presidents Cup since 2015 (Danny Lee) and fifth overall.
NO. 3 – HIDEKI MATSUYAMA

2026 Highlights: The International Team stalwart earned his way back to the Presidents Cup for his seventh appearance with six top-10 finishes this season highlighted by a runner-up at the WM Phoenix Open and four consecutive T7-or-better finishes spanning the 3M Open through the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Notable: Set to make his seventh Presidents Cup appearance behind only Adam Scott (12), Ernie Els and Vijay Singh (8).

Notable: Made his Presidents Cup debut in 2024 as a captain’s pick (0-1-1) and has since become a fan favorite for the International Team.

His next best finish came at the Wyndham Championship (T5) and went on to qualify for his second TOUR Championship.
Notable: 2026 will mark the 24-year-old's third appearance, having first qualified for the International Team as a 20-year-old in 2022 at Quail Hollow Club.
