Donation furthers Presidents Cup commitment to leave lasting impact in Chicago

CHICAGO As part of its ongoing commitment to investing in local communities and creating a lasting legacy, the Presidents Cup announced a $25,000 donation to Cubs Charities on Monday, June 29 during a special moment at Wrigley Field. U.S. Team Captain Brandt Snedeker marked the occasion by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the Chicago Cubs game.

“The Presidents Cup has always been about more than world-class competition, it’s about making a meaningful impact in the communities that host us,” said Joie Chitwood, Executive Director of the 2026 Presidents Cup. “We’re proud to support Cubs Charities and the incredible work they do to positively impact youth and families across Chicago. Sharing this moment at such an iconic venue alongside Brandt made it even more special.”

Cubs Charities is the official nonprofit of the Chicago Cubs, dedicated to leveling the playing field for Chicago’s youth and families. Since 2009, Cubs Charities has invested more than $62 million to expand access to youth sports and education, impacting approximately 400,000 Chicagoans each year in partnership with more than 100 local organizations. From renovating neighborhood ballfields to mentoring future leaders, Cubs Charities opens doors for young people in all 77 Chicago neighborhoods.

“Partnerships like this demonstrate the incredible impact we can make when sport brings people together for good,” said Lea Jesse, Executive Director and Vice President of Cubs Charities. “We are grateful to the Presidents Cup for its generous support, which helps us continue expanding access to sports, education, and opportunities for young people and families across Chicago.”

The presentation took place on the field at historic Wrigley Field, where Snedeker delivered the ceremonial first pitch, highlighting the connection between two of sport’s most storied traditions while reinforcing the Presidents Cup’s commitment to giving back.

Since its inception in 1994, the Presidents Cup has generated tens of millions for charitable causes worldwide, underscoring the PGA TOUR’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy. The 2026 Presidents Cup will be held at Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 3 Sept. 22-27, 2026.
