Captain Brandt Snedeker Returns to the Winner’s Circle
Rickie Fowler moves to 16th in U.S. Team standings with runner-up at Truist Championship
CHICAGO – In his 471st career start on the PGA TOUR, Presidents Cup U.S. Team Captain Brandt Snedeker claimed his 10th career TOUR title at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic and first since the 2018 Wyndham Championship – a span of 2,821 days.
Drawing inspiration from other 40-and-over winners Justin Rose and Gary Woodland in 2026, the 45-year-old Snedeker claimed a two-year exemption on TOUR and a spot in the field at this week’s PGA Championship.
“I've had a lot going on this year obviously with Presidents Cup stuff and getting to be around the guys, it really pushed me a lot. It did,” Snedeker said. “Seeing Gary Woodland win a few weeks ago in Houston and seeing the old guys play well and the young guys push them, it's been fun to get back in the swing of things and play some good golf.”
Snedeker had shown a return to form earlier this season, playing in the final pairing on Sunday at the Valspar Championship before eventually finishing T18.
At the Truist Championship, Rickie Fowler was the top American finisher (T2) and moved to No. 16 in the U.S. Presidents Cup Team standings in search of his fourth Presidents Cup appearance and first since 2019.
The runner-up at Quail Hollow marked Fowler’s third consecutive top-10 finish on TOUR and made him the only player to finish inside the top 10 in each of the last four Signature Events on TOUR.
The 2026 U.S. Team will be comprised of six (6) automatic qualifiers and six (6) Captain’s Picks, with the ranking determined through a weighted system based on FedExCup Points from January 1, 2025, through August 23, 2026. The six automatic qualifiers will be finalized following the 2026 BMW Championship (Aug. 23).
General admission tickets for the Presidents Cup are now on sale to witness the 16th edition of the PGA TOUR’s biennial global team competition, set to be contested at Medinah Country Club’s Course #3, September 22-27, 2026. The ticket launch features options for General Admission as well as Captains’ Club and the International Club.
