Presidents Cup Brings Warmth to Students at Admiral Byrd Elementary

$50k donation provides 290 students with new coats, shoes and socks before winter

CHICAGO – The Presidents Cup is contributing $50,000 to the nonprofit Operation Warm to ensure that local students do not have to face the cold this winter without a coat. Through the partnership, 290 students at Admiral Byrd Elementary School in Elk Grove Village IL will receive coats, shoes and socks for the fall and winter months.

“The Presidents Cup loves finding new and fun ways to give back to the community,” said Executive Director Joie Chitwood. “Working with Operation Warm to make sure kids have coats, shoes and socks for the season is a simple way to make a big difference and we are grateful to the Chicago community whose support makes programs like this possible.”

The $50,000 contribution is part of the Presidents Cup’s ongoing support for Chicago communities, following recent initiatives with First Tee – Greater Chicago and the DuPage County Crisis Recovery Center, bringing total local support to $550,000. The gift reflects the Presidents Cup’s long-standing commitment to making a difference, as the tournament has contributed more than $56.5 million to programs and initiatives around the world since its start in 1994.

The 2026 edition of the Presidents Cup will take place at Medinah Country Club, September 22-27, marking the tournament’s first event in the Chicagoland area. In addition to showcasing top U.S. and International players, the event continues to focus on giving back and supporting the communities that host it.
