Unmatched fan experience to be infused with flavors of Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – Tournament officials announced today an extensive variety of offerings for spectators to enjoy at the 2022 Presidents Cup when the event descends on Quail Hollow Club for the first time, September 20-25.
“Over the past four years as we developed what the Presidents Cup fan experience at Quail Hollow Club would look like, our goal was to ensure there was something for everyone,” said Executive Director Adam Sperling. “We are excited to announce a variety of offerings which will showcase the onsite experience, allowing fans to blend their appetites for Charlotte culinary favorites, shopping, and activities for the family, all alongside an intense global team competition taking place inside the ropes.”
At the onset, the First Tee will feature a stadium arena unlike anything the Presidents Cup has ever built before. With capacity up to 2,500 fans, the first tee will transform into a venue packed from start to finish with enthusiasm and entertainment, including Thursday’s presentation of the Cup (opening ceremony) at the beginning of competition.
For food partners, the Presidents Cup will create an onsite experience reflective of the Charlotte culture, working closely with local restauranters to bring the feel of the Queen City to Quail Hollow. Charlotte neighborhoods NoDa- and South End-inspired areas on the golf course will offer ticketholders food options from those respective communities. NoDa will be nestled just behind No. 4 green featuring Cuzzo’s Cuisine, La Caseta and Sabor Latin Street Grill. South End will be brought to life between the greens on 10 and 14, offering Ace No. 3 Burgers, What the Fries, El Toro Bruto and Two Scoops Creamery. Fans in the mood for another dessert option can also visit Sunflour Bakery located between No. 1 tee and No. 18 green.
The Green Mile Lawn will be an open-air space between 13 and 15 fairways that will feature Charlotte’s Noble Smoke BBQ and Viva Chicken, in addition to a second Two Scoops Creamery location. The space will also have accessible seating and scoreboards for viewing pleasure. For a unique viewing experience, venture over to the edge of the lake adjacent to No. 10 Fairway, facing 14 green, where The Dock juts out over the lake, allowing fans to gain unmatched vantage points while sitting on the water to catch matches between three different holes.
Several beer, wine and spirit options will be available for purchase to fans 21-and-over. Beginning at the concession level, Michelob ULTRA, the Official Beer partner, will offer Michelob ULTRA, ULTRA Organic Seltzer and more for purchase. Those looking for craft beer assortments can visit the Wicked Weed Craft Experience in NoDa on 4 Green for craft. Thirsty fans should also check out the Wine and Dine featuring Meiomi Wines at 16 Fairway for red, white and rose selections. For those searching for the tournament signature cocktails, look no further than the Tito’s Stillhouse Lounge located within the Southend in the heart of the action. Find all of this and more scattered throughout the course at our numerous concession and bar locations.
Visiting the Fan Shop is a must for any fan looking to take home a souvenir from the 2022 event. Similar to the first tee, this venue will be one of the largest of its kind, amassing over 40,000 square feet worth of space for spectators to shop. A wide selection of apparel brands including Nike, Adidas, Lululemon, Peter Millar and 704 Shop – a local Charlotte brand – can be found, in addition to non-apparel favorites like cups, koozies, pin flags, golf balls and more. Citi cardholders will receive 10% off all purchases when using their Citi card at checkout.
Atrium Health, the Official Healthcare Provider of the Presidents Cup will provide on-site physicians and medical support teams to deliver care to spectators, volunteers, staff, players and caddies throughout tournament week. An air-conditioned Family Care Suite will be located on property which will serve a number of purposes including a comfort station for parents, a skin care center, and an area in which to educate fans on sports medicine.
In addition, Atrium Health grandstands on No. 5 green / No. 6 tee, as well as No. 10 green, will provide shaded canopies for spectators, as well as educational elements tied to protecting spectators from the sun. Also, for the benefit of health and wellbeing of spectators, Cognizant is sponsoring four water refill stations throughout the course as well as giving away 100 free water bottles per day to fans.
Fans looking for a more interactive way to participate in the event can visit the Citi Interactive Zone, located to the right of 16 fairway, open to the public. Try out virtual swing simulators replicating QHC and take advantage of the chipping and putting area. Citi Cardholders can also take advantage of the Citi Lounge on 9 Green, a venue exclusive to cardholders with food and beverage for purchase with a relaxing area to enjoy matches coming through the 9th hole. Complimentary mobile charging devices will also be available to fans around the course, courtesy of Citi.
