SEOUL, Korea – The Presidents Cup 2015 tournament officials are pleased to unveil on-course attire for each day of competition, rain gear and Opening Ceremony formal wear for the players, captains and captains’ assistants for the upcoming event. The Presidents Cup, a team, match-play competition featuring 24 of the world’s top golfers, comes to Asia for the first time, to be held at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Songdo IBD, Incheon City, Korea, Oct. 6-11.
Although The Presidents Cup players have their own sports-apparel sponsors, they will be wearing uniforms during the matches and proudly representing their respective countries as a team. The captains and their assistants work hand-in-hand with the teams’ respective apparel designers to create and select the clothing lineup for the week, and their choices for each day of competition have been decided (see attached photos). In a first-of-its-kind vote via Twitter, fans chose the uniforms for each team’s debut on the first day of competition, Oct. 8.
The International Team’s official apparel provider Peter Millar marks its third trip to The Presidents Cup; in 2013, it was the official apparel provider for the International Team, and in 2011, it was the official apparel provider for the U.S. Team. Peter Millar, owned by Compagnie Financiere Richemont, sits alongside fellow prestigious Richemont Maisons such as Cartier, IWC, Panerai, Vacheron Constantin and Mont Blanc, among others. The International Team apparel consists of Peter Millar’s luxurious super 120’s worsted wool, imported cotton dress shirts, silk neckwear, luxury cotton polos and fine-gauge cashmere sweaters along with high-performance dress pants.
For competition days, the lineup is as follows:
• Thursday (as chosen by fans): A light yellow double-mercerized cotton polo paired with a blue cashmere sweater vest and blue windowpane performance pants.
• Friday: A green-and-black stripe double-mercerized cotton polo paired with a grey cashmere sweater and black performance pants.
• Saturday: A turquoise stripe double-mercerized cotton polo paired with a grey and turquoise argyle cashmere sweater and black performance pants.
• Sunday: A white double-mercerized cotton polo paired with a mint green and grey windowpane cashmere sweater and navy performance pants.
For the opening ceremony, the International Team will don expertly crafted tailored clothing from Peter Millar consisting of a navy suit made from super 120’s fine merino worsted wool.
“We have worked very closely with Captain Nick Price to create a line that is unique and tasteful as the matches move to Asia for the first time in the Cup’s history,” said President of Golf for Peter Millar Todd Martin.
For the second time, Price selected Sunice to provide outerwear for team, as he was impressed with the performance of the Sunice gear at rainy Muirfield Village Golf Club in 2013 and requested the exact same fabric construction for Korea. The players will be wearing Sunice’s Gore Tex® Paclite® rain suit with stretch Gore Tex inserts added across the back of the jacket for increased freedom of movement. The Gore Tex® Paclite® short-sleeve pullover in pure white and accenting blue bucket hat completes the outfit. Price again selected pure white for the jacket with blue trim accenting to tie in with the blue in the Korean flag, and the rain pants are also a matching blue. For cooler weather conditions and even “after-play,” Price selected Sunice’s down-quilted vest.
The U.S. Team’s official apparel provider is Fairway & Greene, with a handsome array of the very finest Baruffa Merino windsweaters and vests, cashmere blend vests, Caves tech pullovers, and Made-in-the-USA performance knits. The apparel selection was chosen by U.S. Team Captain and Fairway & Greene Ambassador Jay Haas.
A new capsule collection for Fairway & Greene, the Made in the USA tech polo shirting upholds the highest standards for quality and craftsmanship, all while providing the highest performance characteristics. A donation from the sale of each Made in the USA polo supports Folds of Honor, an organization that educates the legacy of military families.
For competition days, the line up is as follows:
• Thursday (as chosen by fans): A performance tech pique windowpane polo with a red Caves Quarter Zip Pullover, paired with “new navy” pants and a navy-and-red striped belt.
• Friday: A white Caves Quarter Zip Pullover paired with a red tech jersey polo from the new Fairway & Greene Made in the USA collection, finished with grey pinstripe pants and a white/black crocodile belt.
• Saturday: A Navy Baruffa Merino Windsweater with a white Made in the USA tech jersey polo, paired with black-and-white pants and a blue crocodile belt.
• Sunday: A shadow-grey heather Skyline cashmere/merino blend quilted windvest paired with a red and white Tournament Stripe Made in the USA performance polo. The pants are grey, with a tan belt for accent.

New for ZR, the Packable Anorak jacket is an innovative waterproof piece, replete with asymmetric zippers that are ergonomically positioned for fluid access to pockets. A functional separate hood stores easily in the front pouch pocket when the downpour ends. The Z550 Vest is a softshell layering piece that performs; water repelling and moisture wicking, the Z550 is finished with sleek accents.
Haas chose Weiss Goldring, a premier men’s apparel retailer out of Alexandria, La., that specializes in custom tailoring, to provide the U.S Team’s pants for the week as well as the formal wear during Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The clothes are elegant and understated while providing comfort and functionality. Haas chose a few different brands to work with from Weiss Goldring, including CASTANGIA for the players’ pants and Opening and Closing ceremony outfits; KLEINBERG for the luxury handmade belts in themes of red, white, and blue; Robert Jensen Design for the player neckwear and pocket square; Magnanni for the players’ footwear to be worn during the Opening and Closing ceremonies; and VK NAGRANI for the hosiery which will incorporate the American Flag.
Throughout the process, Haas has worked with Ted Silver, CEO of Weiss Goldring, to incorporate his favorite design elements from apparel worn throughout his career.
