DUBLIN, Ohio – With his first career major championship victory at the PGA Championship, Jason Dufner all but sealed his position on the United States team for The Presidents Cup with the event set to come to Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, on October 1-6. Tournament officials also announced that the Opening Ceremony, featuring an international festival and concert by Grammy Award-winning group Rascal Flatts, has reached capacity.

“We are thrilled to announce that The Presidents Cup Opening Ceremony has officially sold out,” said Tournament Director Dan Sullivan. “With Jason Dufner’s victory at the PGA Championship, The Presidents Cup will likely include three of the four major championship winners from this season. Demand for tickets is high as evident by the quick sell out of Opening Ceremony and Captains’ Club tickets. There are a limited number of General Admission tickets still available for fans who don’t want to miss this world-class event.”

With his victory at Oak Hill, Dufner jumped from 13th to sixth in the standings. The Ohio native’s first major championship victory should result in his first-ever Presidents Cup appearance. While Dufner’s victory moved him into the top 10, Webb Simpson fell from No. 8 to No. 12. Jim Furyk, who finished runner-up at the PGA Championship, moved from No. 16 to No. 13 with just three weeks left until the Sept. 2 rankings deadline. Those inside the top 10 in the standings receive an automatic bid with two remaining spots on each team to be filled by captain selections.
